Environmental benefits

World pollution, greenhouse effect, changing environment and global warming are some of the most important issues facing the world today. Help clean up Perth’s air by converting your vehicle to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Alternative transport fuels are environmentally beneficial when compared to other fossil fuels. Freight companies are slowly converting to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and currently 160 Transperth buses are running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). You can help too - for light vehicles, convert to LPG.

Economical benefits

The Australian Government has established the LPG Vehicle Scheme to assist private use motorists with the purchase of a new LPG vehicle or the conversion of a new or used petrol or diesel vehicle to LPG.

Two different grants are available:

1. A grant of $2,000 will be paid following the LPG conversion of a new or used petrol or diesel motor vehicle.
2. A grant of $1,000 will be paid following the purchase of a new motor vehicle with an LPG unit fitted at the time of manufacture of the vehicle.
